World-class 21st century integrated township of NOIDA became, on 12th November,2009 the first city to be linked with much-awaited Metro rail-network of Delhi. Made possible owing to clear vision of Government of Uttar Pradesh, this modern infrastructure facility will improve environment for overall socio-economic development of the region.
Starting from Yamuna Bank (New Delhi), this 12.8 kms Metro route has been extended upto City Centre Station in NOIDA. There are 11 stations from Yamuna Bank, New Delhi to City Centre Station, NOIDA, of which six are in NOIDA.
Built at the cost of Rs. 827 crore*, State government has shared the major part to the tune of Rs. 557 crore*. It is also the longest line (58 kms) of the Delhi Metro, directly connecting Dwarka Sector 9 to NOIDA City Centre.
With the upcoming Commonwealth Games in 2010, and otherwise also, Metro Rail fulfils the need of safest and fastest mode of transport in this vast expanding area of hectic economic and commercial activity.
NOIDA is strategically located adjacent to national capital New Delhi and offers excellent infrastructure facilities and fully developed land for setting up of Industrial, Institutional, Educational and Residential projects. Flanked by sister industrial & commercial hubs of Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Development Authority, NOIDA has already been ranked as the city where it takes minimum time to start the business.
